Monthly Musings

An insight into Entrust

Good morning and welcome to the September edition of "Monthly Musings".

The markets, in contrast to August, have retraced somewhat in September with the challenges of the Pandemic still clearly weighing in. Combine this with the US Federal election being around the corner and investors are considering the future under Joe Biden or Donald Trump.

In this edition we go through the market movements for September and feature a very interesting report on the upcoming US Election by our research and advisory partner, leading independent asset consultant, Frontier Advisors. This report is well worth a read and provides some great insights.

As usual, we are excited to deliver the next episode of "3 Minute Tech" which continues with the theme of strategies for estate planning and superannuation, and then in our Focal Point section we look closely at potential superannuation strategies for pre-retirees.

Also in this September edition, our feature Entrust video interview for the month is our Senior Investment Adviser and Director, Brad Gordon. We have another super podcast that may be of interest and finish with another suggestion for an interesting book to read if you need one.

We hope you enjoy.

Markets Update

Observations from September...
  • Markets head lower during September in a month where Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, experienced the biggest one day wealth drop in history. COVID cases rose across Europe and Boris Johnson orders his Brits to leave the pub by 10pm. Hot topics such as second waves, vaccines, the US election and inflation leaves an uncertain near-term outlook for global markets.
  • As we mentioned in our intro, our research and advisory partner, Frontier Advisors has released this report covering the US Federal Election on Tuesday the 3rd of November. A very interesting read.
